However at this time, preference will be given to female candidates to meet current staffing needs. To be considered, applicants must complete the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board form DJ-LE-330 as well as the release of information form.
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Correctional Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within the Lincoln County Jail. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage conflicts effectively.
JOB DUTIES:
This non-sworn position, under the direction of the Sheriff and the general supervision of the Jail Administrator, will perform a variety of duties including:
Correctional Officers are required to work weekends, nights, holidays, and overtime as shift rotations dictate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent; valid Wisconsin driver’s license; no felony convictions; satisfactory completion of all required training during time period as established by the agency; strong written and verbal communications skills; experience with and knowledge of computers; ability to work in confined areas under stressful situations. 120-hour jail certification is preferred but not required. Must complete a one-year probationary period.
WAGE:
This is a full-time, hourly position starting at $26.48 to $31.35 based on experience. Lateral transfer for candidates with previous Correctional Officer experience will be given.
