Job summary

The State of Ohio, Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work within a correctional setting under the institutional Chief Medical Officer. This role requires patient care for inmate populations and collaboration with medical staff.

You will perform routine exams, manage chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and participate in rounds and quality improvement activities to ensure care meets ACA standards and institutional policies.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license with NP program completion and Ohio board certification for advanced practice with prescriptive authority.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and intervene in chronic illnesses following DRC policies.
• Prescribe medications and provide treatment for acute and chronic conditions.
• Perform routine physical exams and determine need for specialty referrals.
• Order and review lab tests and imaging as appropriate.
• Conduct rounds and document assessments and plans per guidelines.
