Job summary

State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive care to incarcerated adults in a correctional setting. You will provide preventive and primary care, educate Persons in Our Care to promote wellness, and work collaboratively with health services staff across departments.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain an active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license with prescriptive authority in Wisconsin or another state in the NLC.
• Valid DEA number required.
• Current BLS certification and AED training.
• Enrollment eligibility for Wisconsin Medicaid as a provider.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive preventive and primary care to well and ill incarcerated adults.
• Educate Persons in Our Care to promote wellness and manage health problems.
• Collaborate with all disciplines in the institutional Health Services Unit.
• Participate in planning and evaluation of care programs and education protocols.
