Job summary

Corecivic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care to deliver high-quality medical services to inmates in a correctional setting. Under supervision of the facility physician, you will provide advanced nursing care within the medical program.

Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering tests, providing vaccinations, maintaining records, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, compliant, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Must hold an accredited Nurse Practitioner degree and be licensed as an NP in the relevant state.
• Experience in primary care is required; correctional or underserved populations preferred.
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, challenging correctional environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care and advanced nursing services to inmates under supervision.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses in a correctional setting.
• order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and vaccinations as appropriate.
• maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality and compliance.
• collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other specialists for referrals.
