Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse at Wilson County Detention Center in Wilson, NC. This full-time, day-shift position requires an active RN license in the state and BLS certification.

You will provide direct nursing care, administer medications, and uphold compliance with HIPAA in a correctional setting. Responsibilities include documenting care, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring patient safety through accurate assessments and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state where services are provided.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills for accurate charting.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice within a correctional setting.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders.
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered.
• Provide emergency first aid care when appropriate.
• Check and record vital signs, glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostics on-site when appropriate.
• Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call.
• Record information in chronic clinic and outcome study documents as indicated.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices as required.
