Curative is seeking a physician to provide professional medical services within Texas correctional facilities. The role includes outpatient primary care for adult male inmates, with duties to render final medical judgments and oversee Health Services activities on-site.

The position operates in a corrections environment under the Regional Physician, with no on-call responsibilities, and requires an MD/DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine, Texas licensure or IMLC

• Active Texas license or IMLC LOQ required.
• BLS and DEA certifications.

Description du poste

Provides professional services related to diagnosis and treatment of inmate patients and of employees injured as a result of TDCJ-ID work related activities. Ensures that appropriate health care in accessible and provided to the inmate population in a timely fashion. Renders final medical judgement regarding care provided to inmates assigned to the unit according to Health Services Policies and Procedures. Directs all Health Services activities on the unit and assumes ultimate responsibility for all Health Services employees assigned to the unit. Works under the general direction of the Regional Physician with extensive latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgement.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday coverage
• 8-hour daytime shifts

• Ongoing assignment with continuity, looking for a locums to perm physician

Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Located within the confinements of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.

Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
