Job summary

Pennington County Sheriff's Office is seeking a full-time Medication Technician to safely administer medications to inmates and maintain proper documentation in a jail setting.

The role requires a HS Diploma or GED, minimum age of 18, ability to obtain certifications, and a background check with drug screen. Preference given to applicants with healthcare experience and a strong commitment to public service.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications.
• Preference for candidates with healthcare experience.
• Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications to inmates as needed and document accordingly.
• Ensure medications are stored, ordered, and accessible for nursing staff.
• Push medication cart between locations within the Jail.
• Recognize and report urgent signs/symptoms.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all medications administered.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality of medical records.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Comply with county policies and procedures.
