Job summary

The Hampden County Sheriff’s Office in Ludlow is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to transport and dispense medications to the inmate population while maintaining strict confidentiality and safety standards.

You will order refills, follow up on discrepancies including missed medications, document in Health Trax, maintain medication carts, and manifest all medications under the Health Services Coordinator and Nursing Supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration or National Certification required.
  • Experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
  • Ability to handle controlled substances securely and in compliance with policy.
  • Willingness to work 3 p.m.–11 p.m with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Transport and dispense medications to the inmate population while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Order refill medications and follow up on discrepancies including missed doses.
  • Document medication activity in Health Trax and maintain cart accuracy.
  • Manifest all medications for clients/inmates and coordinate with Health Services staff.
  • Manage all medications including controlled substances in accordance with safety standards.

Job description

The Hampden County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a highly motivated and energetic full-time Pharmacy Technicianwho will be responsible for the transportation and distribution of approved medications to the client / inmate population while maintaining confidentiality. Additional responsibilities include ordering refill medications,following up on medication discrepancies including missed medications, ensuring properdocumentation of medication in Health Trax, medication cart maintenance, manifesting all medications for clients/inmates, and working alongside the Health Services Coordinator and Nursing Supervisors.

The Pharmacy Technician is also responsible for the proper management of all medications including controlled substances.Medical support staff will adhere to all pharmacy standards while focusing on Health Services policy compliance and safety standards.

The position requires you to have a valid Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration/License and/or National Pharmacy Certification with experience.

Full-time positions start at $57,277.30 per year, and offer an excellent benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement options, paid time off, and more.
