Job summary

Boulder County is seeking a Full Time Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Coordinator for the Jail Division. The MAT Coordinator will oversee the Jail MAT program, conduct assessments, provide counseling, educate inmates on MAT, and coordinate referrals to internal and community treatment services.

The role requires licensure in addiction counseling or clinical social work, experience with Medicaid enrollment, and strong data reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of opioid use disorder, MAT, and recovery principles.
• Ability to coordinate MAT services within a correctional setting.
• Experience with Medicaid enrollment and continuity of care after release.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with nursing, medical, and behavioral health staff to identify inmates with OUD or SUD.
• Review referrals from COWS assessments and meet inmates eligible for JMAT.
• Conduct substance use assessments and determine treatment needs and level of care.
• Educate inmates about MAT, recovery, overdose prevention, and program expectations.
• Document all encounters and treatment plans in the electronic health record.
• Coordinate referrals to internal jail programs and community providers for continuity of care.
