The University of Texas Medical Branch in Texas is seeking licensed vocational nurses to provide direct patient care within a correctional setting. The role supports assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care with supervision as needed.

Responsibilities include following physician orders, administering medications, documenting care, and maintaining patient privacy. The position is non-benefit eligible and limited to 19 hours per week.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current Texas LVN license.
• Current BLS-HP certification.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
• Perform admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
• Review and modify the plan of care under supervision.
• Observe and document patient signs, symptoms and status.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Notify staff of changes in patient status and coordinate care.
• Follow physician orders and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assemble equipment for procedures and assist during treatments.
• Adhere to infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Document nursing care in patient records.
• Comply with internal controls and reporting structures.
