Job summary

TTUHSC Abilene Robertson Unit seeks a licensed vocational nurse for correctional healthcare. You will administer meds, monitor patients, document in the EHR, and collaborate with the care team in a secure setting.

Shift is night-based (Sunday to Thursday 2100-0530) with competitive pay and benefits. Requires Texas LVN license, CPR, and NCLEX-PN readiness; no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Current Vocational Nurse License in Texas or ready to transfer.
• Current CPR certification.
• Graduated from an approved nursing program.
• New graduates must pass NCLEX-PN on first attempt.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patient health per care plans.
• Perform clinical observations and report changes.
• Prepare and operate essential medical equipment for procedures.
• Document assessments and medication administration in the EHR.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and correctional staff.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and observation protocols.
• Assist in medical emergencies and triage patients.
