Job summary

SerKy Consulting, LLC in Palestine, TX is hiring Licensed Vocational Nurses for full-time correctional healthcare roles across four Texas units. You’ll work day and night shifts at Beto, Michael, Coffield & Powledge Units with a rotating schedule at $39/hour.

You'll provide nursing care, administer medications, assess patients, and coordinate with physicians while maintaining accurate records and ensuring safety in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LVN program.
• Active Texas LVN license (or compact license valid in Texas).
• 1+ year of Med-Surg or LTAC experience.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• IV Therapy certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and diagnostic and preventive procedures for incarcerated patients.
• Interpret physician orders and administer prescribed medications.
• Assist physicians with sick call, and assess patients during sick call when a physician isn’t present.
• Check and record vital signs, apply surgical dressings, and provide emergency first aid.
• Report reactions to treatments and medications, and changes in patients’ physical or emotional condition.
• Advise correctional staff on patient health needs as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records, and check and order supplies.
• Consult with your supervisor on complex cases.
