Job summary

PrimeCare Medical Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in the Cecil County Detention Center in Elkton, MD. You will provide comprehensive nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse and support the flow of information to the care team.

The position offers a 2-week orientation and shifts including evenings, day and night. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, PTO and a 401k with match, plus tuition reimbursement. A sign-on bonus is paid over two years.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse in Maryland.
• Ability to communicate effectively with inmates and staff.
• Ability to function under supervision.
• Demonstrate clinical competency in correctional health care (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care under supervision of an RN.
• Maintain and update electronic medical records.
• Ensure accurate documentation of controlled substances, narcotics and sharps.
• Record, retrieve and file medical information in inmate/patient records.
