Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to join the Carroll County Detention Center team in Westminster, MD. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care under RN supervision and support inmate/patient health.

The role includes EMR maintenance, nursing assessments, and timely information flow to the care team. We offer a two-week orientation, a $5,000 sign-on bonus, and a generous benefits package with medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and tuition

Qualifications

• Maryland LPN license is required.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care under RN supervision and ensure proper information flow to the care team.

• Record, monitor, and manage controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps per laws.
• Conduct sick calls and treat illnesses/injuries per protocol and PCM Medical Director approval.
• Observe, document symptoms/progress and contribute to plan of care.
• Record, retrieve, and file patient medical information in the inmate/patient record.

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to work in the medical department at the Carroll County Detention Center located in Westminster, MD.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care and perform duties under the supervision of an RN.

Current Openings:

• Full-time Night Shift (7 PM to 7 AM rotation of every other weekend)
• Full-Time/Part-Time Evening or Night Shift (either 6 PM- 2 AM or 7 PM- 3 AM)

Job Responsibilities:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse will also maintain, update, and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure. Other responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
• Conducting sick calls for inmates/patients and providing treatment for illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of care.
• Record, retrieve, and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.

This position provides a 2 week orientation period where you will be training on the job and shadowing with the nursing staff.

Requirements

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a fast-paced position and as such we must have someone who has the ability to multi-task and has a good grasp of patient assessment skills. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse must be licensed to practice nursing in the state in which the facility is located.
