Job summary

NaphCare is hiring LPNs/LVNs to join our team at the Ventress Correctional Facility in Clayton, Alabama. As a Correctional Nurse you will work with medical professionals and correctional officers to provide care to incarcerated individuals, including assessments, med administration, chronic disease management, and emergency response.

New grads are encouraged to apply — training will be provided in the exciting field of correctional healthcare.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Actively state certified as an LPN/LVN
• Ability to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
• Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and interview patients about health problems
• Take vital signs (BP, temp, weight)
• Provide wound care and bandaging
• Administer medications including injections and monitor reactions
• Maintain medical records in electronic health record (TechCare)
• Observe patient and mental health status
• Provide emergency first aid and discharge planning
