Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide hands-on care in a correctional setting at SCI Greene. You will support treatment plans, medication administration, and daily health services to promote patient well-being and continuity of care.

Responsibilities include nursing care, accurate documentation, patient monitoring, emergency response, and assisting with sterilization and supply management.

Qualifications

• Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• If holding a temporary permit, must obtain PA LPN licensure within one year.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• PA residency requirement is waived for this title.

Responsibilities

• Implement nursing care plans, monitor patient conditions, and assist with daily living and hygiene needs.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments while maintaining accurate records.
• Observe physical and emotional conditions, identify healthcare needs, and report findings to appropriate medical staff.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or AED assistance when necessary.
• Record, retrieve, and maintain health information, reports, and controlled substance records.
• Sterilize instruments, monitor inventory levels, and maintain adequate treatment area supplies.
