NaphCare, Inc. is hiring an LPN to join our team in Palmetto, Florida, supporting the men and women at the Manatee County Jail. As a Correctional Nurse, you will perform assessments, administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to emergencies in a secure, controlled environment.

New grads are encouraged to apply; training will be provided. You must be state-certified, hold an active BLS CPR certification, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an LPN program.
• Active state LPN license (Florida) and high school diploma or GED.
• Active BLS CPR certification.
• Must pass criminal background check and drug screening.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to correctional healthcare policies.

Responsabilités

• Perform patient assessments and interview patients about health problems and medication history.
• Take vital signs (BP, temperature, weight).
• Provide wound care and dressing of injuries.
• Administer medications including injections and monitor reactions.
• Maintain medical records in the electronic health record (TechCare).
• Provide patient education and discharge planning; respond to emergencies.

Overview

NaphCare is hiring LPN to join our team of medical professionals in Palmetto, Florida, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Manatee County Jail. This is a new PRN opportunity!

As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

As an LPN, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:

• Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history
• Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight
• Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas
• Administering medication, including injections of medications and monitoring reaction to meds
• Maintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, TechCare
• Observing patient health and mental health status
• Providing emergency first aid
• Providing patient education and discharge/release planning

Qualifications

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
• Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)
• Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

Physical Capabilities:

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
