Job summary

Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) invites applications for a full-time Instructional Assistant at the PWCC in Pocatello, Idaho. The position supports classroom instruction, guides learning activities, and helps keep academic progress on track in a female residents facility.

You will collaborate with instructors, monitor behavior, maintain records, and ensure confidentiality while assisting with TABE testing and assessment to establish baselines and progress over time.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of behavioral management in educational settings, via training or related work experience.
• Experience presenting lessons and educational materials to groups.
• Experience entering and retrieving data using an automated record system.

Responsibilities

• Monitor class activities under instructor supervision; execute lesson plans; track learning results.
• Check and correct student assignments.
• Monitor behavior and progress; report issues and adjust instructional plans as needed.
• Consult with teachers on academic and behavioral planning and evaluation.
• Deliver TABE testing services and maintain testing supplies.
• Maintain student electronic records and files.
• Participate in staff training and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Conduct TABE assessments to establish baselines and progress.
