Job summary

County of Anoka is seeking a Temporary Registered Nurse, Correctional Health to deliver essential nursing care within the Anoka County Jail. The role supports intake, sick call, chronic care, and emergencies, requiring strong clinical judgment and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and MN RN license.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience.
• Passing extensive background check.
• Experience in correctional health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to inmates in various settings.
• Assess inmates at intake/booking, sick call, chronic care and emergencies.
• Review medications, coordinate and administer treatments.
• Arrange for additional health care including dental, medical and psychological services.
• Maintain medical records and document orders accurately.
• Train correctional officers and staff on medical procedures.
• Support rotating weekend and holiday coverage.
