Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a part-time registered nurse to provide on-site medical care at Sangamon County Jail in Springfield, IL. The role focuses on delivering nursing care, administering medications, and coordinating with practitioners to meet inmate health needs.

Responsibilities include timely assessment, documentation, vital signs, emergency first aid, patient education, and collaboration with medical services while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state where services are provided.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders.
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner.
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate.
• Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other tests on-site.
• Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call.
• Record care information concisely, accurately, and timely.
• Collaborate and coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment.
