Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse to provide nursing care at Sangamon County Jail.

The role involves timely assessment, medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with practitioners to ensure safe, compliant care in a correctional setting. The position requires an active nursing license in the state, BLS certification, strong documentation, and knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the governing state in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders.
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner.
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate.
• Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose, weight, and other tests on-site when appropriate.
• Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call.
• Record data for statistical reporting on CQI.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices.
