Job summary

PAGNY is recruiting a Patient Care Associate for work in New York City's jail system. You will assist with nursing care, perform venipuncture, rapid HIV testing, and EKGs, while documenting in EMR and supporting safety. The role requires attention to patient well-being and teamwork in a busy environment.

This 1199 union position offers benefits provided by the union. Shifts include days with location variability across Rikers Island and adjacent facilities.

Qualifications

• Accredited high school diploma or GED required.
• EKG certificate required.
• BCLS certification and computer literacy required.
• HIV pre/post test counseling training preferred.
• PCA/PCT/CNA certificate required.
• Infection control certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Administers total care and assists with personal hygiene and ADLs.
• Performs venipuncture, EKGs, HIV testing and vital signs documentation.
• Assists with admissions/transfers and prepares patients for meals.
• Maintains EMR entries and supports safety and infection control.
