Physician Affiliate Group of New York, P.C. (PAGNY) seeks a Patient Care Associate to assist licensed nurses in New York City's jail health services.

Based on Rikers Island, the PCA performs veni-puncture, finger-sticks, HIV testing, triage, and essential ADLs while supporting safety and comfort of patients under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, transfers, meals, vital signs, EKGs, charting in EMR, and participating in emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Assists with patient hygiene, transfers and ADLs as directed.
• Takes and records vital signs, and performs EKGs when required.
• Performs venipuncture, finger-sticks, HIV pre/post test counseling and rapid HIV testing.
• Maintains proper documentation in Electronic Medical Records and transmits information to the laboratory.
• Assists with nursing follow-ups, admissions processing and patient safety.
