Requires a current Michigan teaching certificate and a bachelor’s degree in education. The position is full-time and located behind the secure perimeter of a correctional facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education required.
• Current Michigan teaching certificate required.
• Six semester credits per year until full approval for employment in Special Education classification (if assigned).

Responsibilities

• Address the academic needs of all prisoners assigned to class at the ABE, Pre-GED and GED levels.
• Coordinate required assessment testing of students and complete all mandated reports.
• Help with Pre-Release programming and align instruction/resources with the Re-Entry program.
