Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficient in word processing, data entry, and report formatting on a computer.
• Ability to work night, weekend and holiday shifts.
• Driver's license and eligibility for Hoover Driver's Permit.
• Ability to pass an extensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Process prisoners in and out of the city jail per procedures and laws.
• Fingerprint, photograph, search inmates, and assign cells.
• Provide medical screening and release paperwork.
• Supervise prisoners and ensure security of inmates and staff.
• Administer medications and manage meals, showers, and linens.
• Supervise inmate phone use, day room, visits.
• Supervise inmate work details and document infractions.
• Perform cell inspections for contraband.
• Keep detention facilities clean and safe.
• Monitor inmates for mental health and intoxication.
• Escort inmates to visits and court.
• Complete daily jail activity and arrest reports.
• Assist warrants division and verify warrants.
• Perform other duties related to the role.
