Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Dental Hygienist for the Wyoming Department of Corrections in Newcastle, WY. This part-time role involves providing preventive dental care to inmates under the supervision of the dentist in a secure correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Active WY dental hygiene license.
• Dental radiology certification required.
• BLS CPR Certification (AHA) required.
• Pass facility background check and drug screening.
• Ability to work in a correctional environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis, assess oral health, and assist the dentist.
• Sterilize and disinfect equipment and tools.
• Assist in triage, scheduling, and patient records. Manage documentation.
• Explain procedures and oral hygiene practices to patients.
• Take and develop x-rays; assist with dental lab tasks.
• Complete periodontal charting and obtain diagnostic records.
• Conduct oral cancer screenings and provide post-operative instructions.
