Job summary

NaphCare is seeking a Dental Hygienist to join the Wyoming Department of Corrections - Women's Center in Lusk, WY. This role offers a flexible schedule and a chance to work in a correctional healthcare setting alongside dental professionals and correctional staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Active state dental hygiene license required.
• Dental radiology certification required.
• Must hold a BLS CPR certification (AHA).
• Strong oral hygiene knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies.
• Pass criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis, assess oral health, and assist the dentist while protecting patient rights.
• Sterilize equipment, manage supplies, and document procedures.
• Support triage, scheduling, patient records, and administrative tasks.
• Explain dental procedures and oral hygiene practices to patients.
• Take and develop x-rays and assist with dental lab tasks.
• Complete periodontal charting and obtain diagnostic records.
• conduct facial and oral tissue screenings during exams.
• Provide post-operative oral hygiene instructions to patients.
• Monitor periodontal conditions and update patient records in TechCare.
