Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a dedicated Correctional Counselor to support daily inmate welfare in a secure setting. The role involves addressing grievances, delivering programs, and maintaining orders through close coordination with staff within the Unit Management Team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of correctional officer experience required; 2+ years preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Minimum age 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine duties of a Correctional Counselor as a unit management team member to resolve daily inmate issues.
• Ensure services and programs are delivered to inmates as designed and on schedule.
• Maintain a caseload of inmates to resolve daily living issues before they escalate.
• Make daily rounds through assigned units to observe operations and ensure safety and security.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings with inmates regarding grievances and resolve situations within policy.
