Qualifications

• Must test negative on all drug screenings.
• Within 90 days of hire, you must obtain the Indiana Risk Assessment System Certification through the Indiana Office of Court Services.
• Complete all mandatory training including the DOC Training Program, Case management specific training, First Aid, and CPR courses.
• High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) with at least 1+ year of related experience in social work, corrections, criminal justice, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to offenders on job assignments, housing changes, transfers, and other procedures.
• Act as a liaison between prospective employers, courts, community, and agencies for job development and release adjustments.
• Assess each offender's risk and needs using IRAS.
• Create individualized case plans addressing risk/needs and track program participation.
• Document interactions and offender progress during incarceration.
• Coordinate with facility staff on re-entry and release issues.
• Prepare case notes and referrals for progress during incarceration.
• Coordinate with classification staff for appropriate offender classification.
• Conduct unit orientation for newly received offenders.
• Adhere to re-entry policies to ensure quality assurance tasks are completed.
