Job summary

State of Indiana is seeking a Correctional Caseworker at Putnamville Correctional Facility in Greencastle, IN. You will coordinate case management, help inmates access programs, and assist in preparing for release and re-entry.

Salary starts at $42,900 and is commensurate with education and experience. Responsibilities include guiding inmates on housing, job assignments, and transfers; acting as a liaison with employers, courts and agencies; documenting progress and preparing case notes

Qualifications

• Must test negative on all drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on job assignments, housing changes, transfers, and facility procedures.
• Act as liaison between prospective employers, courts, community, and governmental agencies for job development and release adjustment.
• Assess offender risk and needs using the Indiana Risk Assessment System (IRAS).
• Create individualized case plans addressing risk/needs and track program participation.
• Document interactions with the offender population and progress during incarceration.
• Coordinate with facility staff on re-entry and release issues.
• Prepare documentation for temporary absences and progress, including case notes and referrals.
• Coordinate with classification staff to make appropriate offender classifications.
