Job summary

The State of Indiana is hiring a Correctional Caseworker at Plainfield Correctional Facility to coordinate case management and help incarcerated individuals access programs and services. You will work to create case plans and assist in the release and re-entry process.

You will assess risk with IRAS, document progress, and coordinate with staff, employers, courts, and community partners to support re-entry and successful reintegration.

Qualifications

• Must test negative on all drug screenings.
• Obtain IRAS Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Complete all mandatory trainings including DOC Training Program, Case management, First Aid and CPR.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of related experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to offenders on job assignments, housing changes and facility procedures.
• Liaise between employers, courts, community and agencies for job development and release adjustment.
• Assess offenders' risk and needs using the Indiana Risk Assessment System (IRAS).
• Create individualized case plans addressing risk and needs and track participation.
• Document interactions and progress during incarceration.
• Coordinate with facility staff on re-entry and release issues.
• Prepare documentation for absences and progress reports across the incarceration period.
• Coordinate with classification staff for appropriate offender placement.
• Conduct unit orientation for newly received offenders.
• Adhere to re-entry policies to ensure quality assurance tasks are completed.
