Located in Black Mountain, NC, Western Correctional Center for Women is a minimum custody facility on a 100+ acre compound that can house up to 366 inmates.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
Work hours: 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday with one late day each week.
The salary grade for this position is NC07. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected, a new salary will be recalculated based on relevant education, experience, funding, and internal equity, which may result in a pay increase.
The NC Department of Adult Correction (DAC) is the largest state agency with over 26,000 employees, responsible for safeguarding citizens through prevention, protection, and preparation, as well as the care, custody, and supervision of sentenced adults.
Opened in 2008, located in Black Mountain, NC, housing approximately 360 female offenders. The facility has undergone renovations to improve educational and medical facilities. Its name was changed to Western Correctional Center for Women in 2021.
