Located in Black Mountain, NC, Western Correctional Center for Women is a minimum custody facility on a 100+ acre compound that can house up to 366 inmates.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. Work hours: 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday with one late day each week.
Note to Current State Employees:
The salary grade for this position is NC07. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected, a new salary will be recalculated based on relevant education, experience, funding, and internal equity, which may result in a pay increase.

About Western Correctional Center for Women (WCCW):
Opened on July 7, 2008, WCCW is a minimum custody facility housing approximately 360 female offenders in Black Mountain, NC. It has undergone renovations to provide educational classrooms, a greenhouse, and medical facilities. The facility was renamed in 2021.

Necessary Special Qualifications: Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
