Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Case Manager (S) for Scotland Correctional Institution in Laurinburg. The role requires conducting initial offender assessments, developing case plans, monitoring compliance, and coordinating rehabilitation and re-entry efforts.

Evening/ weekend hours and custody duties are possible. Applicants must meet certification requirements, pass background checks, and undergo medical and psychological evaluations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of supportive counseling techniques.
• Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• Criminal background check, drug screen, medical and psychological evaluations required.
• Education and experience can be met by an Associate degree or an equivalent combo of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess offender behavior and develop counseling strategies to achieve progress.
• Answer offender questions and provide information on classification and sentencing status.
• Organize rehabilitation programs and coordinate work release investigations.
• Support transition planning prior to parole or release into the community.
