The GEO Group, Inc. in Louisiana is seeking a Counselor to provide counseling services to inmates or detainees, helping them adjust to facility life and access needed services. This role focuses on individual and group counseling within the facility.

You will conduct interviews, orientation, develop programs, and refer serious cases to professional staff; you will support reintegration, monitor custody and housing assignments, and participate in classification meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in criminal justice, sociology, or related field.
• One year in caseload management of offenders in a correctional setting required or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Interviews newly admitted inmates or detainees.
• Provides individual counseling on work, housing, and adjustment issues.
• Develops and implements programs to meet inmate needs.
• Monitors custody, housing, and program assignments for timely review.
• Represents inmates at classification committee meetings.
