Job summary

TTUHSC is seeking a Correctional Business Assistant at Wichita Falls Allred Unit to perform telehealth coordination, EMR scheduling, and general clerical duties in a correctional setting.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 3+ years of clerical experience; medical terminology experience is a plus. This is a day shift with hourly pay in a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of progressively responsible clerical experience.
• Additional education/experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Preferred: one year of medical/behavioral health terminology experience in a clinical setting, including EMR-based scheduling and note processing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuity of care for specialty telehealth clinics.
• Coordinate clinic operations.
• Patient throughput management.
• Process provider notes for accurate and complete information.

Visa Information

Position Description

Performs responsible and complex duties associated with a specialized function of a section of clerical employees in a correctional institution

Major/Essential Functions

• Assist with Telehealth presenting.
• Ensure continuity of care for specialty telehealth clinics.
• Coordinate clinic operations
• Patient throughput management.
• Process provider notes for accurate and complete information
• Manage reminders in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Take vital signs
• Respond to all requests in a timely manner as required and necessary for effective communication
• Support the goal of the unit by attending meetings.
• Effectively participate in the overall goals of the Managed Care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Since 1989, TTUHSC Managed Care has been providing clinical and operational support to correctional facilities throughout West Texas and other regional areas. We serve approximately 30,000 patients utilizing a broad range of comprehensive medical and health services. TTUHSC Managed Care strives to positively impact the lives of our patients, to include many who had no previous access to quality health care.

Required Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Three years progressively responsible clerical experience. Additional education and/or related experience to equal three years may substitute on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year of experience using medical and behavioral health terminology in a clinical setting, including EMR-based scheduling, note processing, reminder management, clinic operations support, and Telehealth coordination.
