Job summary

TTUHSC operates a correctional facility medical clinic and seeks a patient-focused health information professional to manage EMR workflows, scheduling, and PHI handling. You will coordinate offender records, support the Managed Care team, and ensure accurate documentation for patient visits in a demanding setting.

The role requires one year of customer service or related experience, with potential for education substitution.

• Schedules and completes paperwork for offender Record Reviews.
• Effectively participates in the overall goals of the Managed Care team.
• Copies records for patient liaison, attorney general, and others who are authorized to receive and/or review PHI.
• Support the goal of the unit by attending meetings.
• Acts as courier to facilitate the EMR operation.
• Performs all other health information tasks as necessary.

Position Description

This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow ofoperations in a correctional facility medical clinic. Employeesserve as primary contacts for patients and are responsible forpreparing necessary paperwork before patient visits, receivingpatients, and maintaining records. In addition, this position maybe responsible for coordinating other clinic services, respondingto requests for patient information, and maintaining relatedinformation for the department. Employees in this classificationreceive general supervision. Most work is performed according toestablished procedures; problems of an unusual nature are referredto a supervisor. Work is performed in a medical clinic setting in acorrectional facility and may require a high degree of contact withpatients, facility staff, and other partners.
