Job summary

The Department of Corrections is seeking a qualified Correctional Boiler Engineer for the Maine Correctional Center in Windham, ME. You will manage a large steam plant, supervise boiler operators, and ensure safe, continuous operation within a correctional facility.

Applicants must hold a Maine Stationary Engineer license and demonstrate ability to perform emergency repairs, read blueprints, and supervise maintenance tasks. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Current valid Stationary Engineer’s license as issued by the Maine Bureau of Labor, Boiler Division.
• Experience operating high-pressure steam plants is preferred.
• Supervisory experience of boiler operators and maintenance staff is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation of a large steam generating plant to ensure continuous steam production.
• Supervises boiler operators and maintenance staff for safety and compliance.
• Responds to emergencies and performs repairs on heating and plumbing systems.
• Maintains records of operations, inspections, and maintenance work.
