Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Counselor for the Brunswick Community Corrections Alternative Program in Lawrenceville, VA. The role supports behavioral change and treatment within an Evidenced Based Practices environment and prepares probationers/parolees for reintegration.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch. Pay rate starts at $24.04/hr ($50,000/year) with eligibility for $27.88/hr ($58,000/year) for CSAC-certified candidates,

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Human Services is required.
State certification as a CSAC in Virginia or equivalent within two years of signing the job description.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established timeframes.
Facilitate psycho-educational and process groups as defined by the curriculum.
Provide individual counseling according to program timeframes and document sessions per policies.
Maintain clinical records in accordance with Spectrum standards.
Serve as a role model/mentor while maintaining professional boundaries and addressing issues promptly.
