Job summary

Johnson County Department of Corrections is seeking a Correctional Advisor at the Adult Residential Center in New Century, Kansas. The role supports an open campus environment and works directly with clients to promote accountability and re-entry into the community.

Shifts include evenings, overnights and weekends. Candidates must be at least 21, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, pass background checks, a drug screen, and a physical ability test.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass criminal history check and drug screen.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a physical ability test prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients to build prosocial behavior and attitudes.
• Support education, employment, and skill-building activities.
• Maintain safety and security following ARC protocols.
• Assist in promoting successful re-entry into the community.
