Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation seeks a skilled economist/analyst to analyze macroeconomic data, policy developments, and market trends for the Corporate Treasury team. The role requires synthesizing complex information into actionable research for leadership and across the enterprise.

In this position, you will develop concise economic updates, charts, and executive-grade communications, supporting interest-rate risk discussions and market positioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, data science or related field.
• Experience with Bloomberg, economic and financial databases, spreadsheets, data visualization, and presentation software.
• Demonstrated ability to process complex datasets and discern noise from signal.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Analyze macroeconomic data, economic releases, and monetary and fiscal policy developments to identify key trends, changes in the economic outlook, and potential implications for interest rates, financial markets, and Corporate Treasury.
2. Evaluate and synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative economic information, applying judgment to distinguish significant developments from short-term market noise and identify the factors most relevant to the economic and interest-rate outlook.
3. Develop timely, evidence-based perspectives on major economic releases and policy announcements to support Corporate Treasury's understanding of the macroeconomic environment and inform interest-rate risk discussions and positioning.
4. Translate complex economic and market information into clear, concise, and accessible research materials that explain what economic developments mean, why they matter, and how they connect to the broader economic and interest-rate environment.
5. Create written and visual research materials, including concise economic updates, charts, presentations, and executive-level communications, that effectively communicate economic trends, key risks, and potential paths for the economy and interest rates.
6. Prepare economic and market analysis for executive committees, internal forums, leadership discussions, and speaking engagements, tailoring the level of detail and messaging to meet the needs of diverse audiences across the enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

2. Experience with Bloomberg, economic and financial databases, spreadsheets, data visualization, and presentation software

Preferred Qualifications

1. Progress towards a CFA or Masters degree preferred
2. Experience with asset liability management or large financial organization preferred
