Job summary

SPEC Building Materials Corporation is seeking a corporate trainer to coach, train and mentor associates across our building materials organization. The role emphasizes developing curriculum, teaching new staff, and coordinating training modules with vendor demonstrations.

The ideal candidate has leadership and sales skills, extensive roofing material knowledge, and strong communication abilities. Residence in the Kansas City area, willingness to travel, and proficiency in MS Office/Google/Zoom

Qualifications

• Background in the building materials industry preferred.
• Extensive product knowledge in steep slope and low slope roofing materials preferred.
• Strong leadership qualities and sales skills required.
• Must reside in the greater Kansas City area and be able to travel.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Google, and Zoom.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with self-motivation and enthusiasm for the business.
• Excellent customer service, management, and communication skills (oral and written).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Legal right to work in the United States and ability to pass a drug test.

Spec Building Materials is in search of a corporate trainer to help coach, train and mentor our associates.

This position would be ideal for any candidate that enjoys building, teaching and molding new candidates in the building materials industry.

Position Responsibilities:

• Developing training curriculum
• Teach and coach new associates
• Scheduling of associates training module
• Scheduling key vendor product demonstrations
• Continuing educations programs for associates
• Evaluating new employee's progress
• Some HR responsibilities/on boarding

Position Requirements:

• Preferably a background in the building materials industry
• Extensive product knowledge in steep slope and low slope roofing materials preferred
• Possess strong leadership qualities
• Strong sales skills
• Must reside in the greater Kansas City area
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook PowerPoint, Excel, Google & Zoom
• Must possess the entrepreneurial spirit; be self-motivated, and enthusiastic about our business.
