Job summary

LRSolutions, LLC is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, manage return preparation with external preparers and internal staff, and coach a team of tax accountants.

You'll also drive process improvements, controls, and metrics, ensuring timely compliance and high-quality deliverables across federal, state, and local taxes. This role demands strong leadership and hands-on tax expertise in a corporate setting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a corporate environment.
• Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience coaching and developing staff is a plus.

Responsibilities

You'll lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, oversee return preparation with external preparers and internal staff, and coach a team of tax accountants. You'll also be accountable for continuously improving how the work gets done, including process design, quality, controls, risk, and service levels.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions
• Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities
• Work directly with internal and external auditors
• Research and deliver tax information requested by management and outside parties
• Support related areas as needed, including sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, and incentives
• Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a corporate environment
• Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills
• Sharp organizational and analytical skills, with strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• A motivated, take-charge attitude
• Plus: CPA, Master's in Taxation, or experience in manufacturing, retail, insurance, or mortgage
