Job summary

Fortegra seeks a Corporate Staff Accountant to ensure accurate financial records and support the monthly close. You will post journal entries, reconcile balance sheets, and drive process improvements while coordinating with the finance team.

A Bachelor’s in Accounting and 5+ years’ experience are required; CPA-eligibility is preferred, with advanced Excel skills essential. This hands-on role offers growth within a global specialty insurer and a comprehensive benefits package, including CPA

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting or audit experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close cycle.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve open items.
• Execute accruals and other close activities on time.
• Identify and implement process improvements to build efficiency.
• Assist with unclaimed property follow-up and resolution.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests.
