Job summary

First Command Financial Services is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Accounting team. You will support the monthly close, prepare entries, perform reconciliations, and analyze variances for senior management.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (Master’s ok) with 2–4 years of experience; CPA preferred but not required. You will work with auditors and multiple finance teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (accounting preferred) and 2-4 years of experience OR requires a master’s degree in business, accounting or finance and 1-2 years of experience.
• CPA preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform analytical procedures and investigate unusual variances.
• Provide financial analysis to management and users of financial information.
• Conduct subsidiary-level monthly financial statement reviews and assist with quarterly reporting.
• Own and improve processes and procedures for accounting workflows.
• Assist with policy documentation updates and audits with internal/external auditors.
• Collaborate with Advisor Compensation, FP&A, A/P, A/R and Treasury teams.
