Job summary

Hooper-Corporation in Wisconsin seeks an experienced safety leader to translate the organization’s safety vision into disciplined execution, with a focus on preventing Serious Injury and Fatalities and promoting a strong safety culture across locations.

As part of a long-standing contractor, you will oversee the corporate safety program, lead staffing and training, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive measurable value through safety initiatives and audits.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in safety roles with multi-site corporate exposure.
• Bachelor’s in Occupational Safety, Environmental/Health Sciences, or related field (or equivalent).
• Certifications (preferred): CSP, ASP, CHST, CUSP, OSHA 30/510/511, First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Proven knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.
• Ability to recognize unsafe or hazardous working conditions and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the execution of the corporate safety program across all locations.
• Provides leadership for staffing, development, and performance management of the team.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and update programs as regulations change.
• Provide direction to site safety representatives ensuring consistent standards.
• Translate safety objectives into actionable plans, metrics and initiatives.

• Serve as primary advisor for safety decisions, evaluating risks and alignment.
• Drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across the organization.

General Summary:

Accountable for translating the organization’s safety vision, values, and regulatory obligations into disciplined execution, consistent practices, and measurable value add. The role focuses on preventing Serious Injury and Fatalities (SIFs) and promoting a strong safety culture within the department.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Own and lead the execution of the corporate safety program, ensuring safety strategies, policies, and initiatives are effectively implemented and sustained across all locations and business units.
• Provides leadership and oversight for staffing, including team development, hiring participation, performance management, and professional growth of team members.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, proactively monitor regulatory changes and coordinating timely updates to programs, training, and practices.
• Provide leadership and direction to site and departmental safety representatives, ensuring consistent application of standards and accountability for safety performance.
• Translate corporate safety objectives into actionable plans, metrics, and initiatives.
• Establish and maintain clear accountability for safety performance, including safety goals, observations, audits, corrective action tracking.
• Serve as the primary advisor and filter for safety-related decisions and initiatives, evaluating risks, feasibility, and alignment with organizational priorities before implementation.
• Drive a strong safety culture, reinforcing safe behaviors, continuous improvement, and shared responsibility at all levels of the organization.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Experience: 5–10+ years in safety roles with multi-site corporate exposure; demonstrated success leading programs, audits, and incident investigations.
• Education: Bachelor’s in Occupational Safety, Environmental/Health Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications (preferred/plus): CSP, ASP, CHST, CUSP, OSHA 30/510/511, First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Proven ability: Working knowledge of all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.
• Technical Skills: Ability to recognize unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
• Behavioral Skills: Public speaking/presentation skills, strong attention to detail.

Description of physical working environment:

• Normal office environment, frequent client visits, and on-site visits in all kinds of weather to survey site conditions and resolve coordination issues.
• May require lifting of supply boxes or materials up to 30 lbs.
