Position Summary

The Corporate Quality Manager leads the delivery of the Quality strategy across the USA and Canada, translating global corporate objectives into measurable, standardized regional action plans. The role acts as the strategic and operational link between executive leadership, regional Quality teams, and branch management, ensuring cross-site compliance, effective risk mitigation, and continual improvement. Working closely with the Director of Global Quality, the role further develops the Corporate Quality team and promotes a positive working culture.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Interpret management system requirements and develop and maintain a group Quality Management System (QMS) in line with the agreed strategy and the organization’s operational processes.
  • Review, formalize, and standardize systems, procedures, and policies to:
    • Ensure compliance with statutory, industry, customer, supplier, contractual, and QMS requirements.
    • Incorporate appropriate risk analysis and mitigation, including the annual review of the Risk Register with the SLT, and action any resulting updates required.
    • Ensure continual improvement.
  • Act as the primary contact and liaison with identified certifying bodies and maintain external accreditations and approvals:
    • Coordinate annual group and branch certifications and ensure audit readiness.
    • Coordinate, by branch and region, the need for management system implementation and potential certification as required.
    • Serve as the primary contact for management of the OASIS database, including completion of any audit findings.
  • Ensure the completion of an annual gap analysis of relevant management system compliance as appropriate.
  • Ensure the adequacy of qualified internal auditors by region to manage the QMS.
  • Create and maintain the annual internal audit schedule by branch, ensuring audit completion, timely actioning of findings raised, and interpretation of audit results.
  • Support annual Management Reviews by branch, directing Regional Quality teams to encourage engagement and contribution by branch and process managers:
    • Deliver the combined group review to the SLT, identifying performance results and key areas of focus, including any opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze Quality department performance against agreed targets and objectives and report on recommendations to the Director of Global Quality.
  • Analyze and report on the organization’s Quality performance, including trends and improvement opportunities, and coordinate the implementation of improvement requirements arising from audits, reviews, or certification activity.
  • Coordinate Corporate Quality meetings to drive completion of agreed QMS improvement opportunities.
  • Support and develop direct reports and the wider Quality team, including:
    • Working with direct reports, under the guidance of the Director of Global Quality, to ensure meaningful and measurable goals are set, monitored, and delivered.
    • Setting one-to-one meetings with direct reports to maintain oversight of activities, challenges, and development opportunities.
    • Coordinating the training program across the Quality team so that team members are equipped to train the wider organization in required QMS topics, deliver required QMS training across the organization, and support regional branch and departmental managers in understanding and fulfilling their branch-specific compliance responsibilities.
    • Acting as an escalation and resolution route as needed.
  • Assist the Director of Global Quality in agreeing annual cost centre budget figures and reviewing spend against budget throughout the year.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance, materials management, sales or customer service, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO and AS quality system standards (e.g., ISO 9001 and AS9100/AS9120) and of management system certification and accreditation processes.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, quality control techniques, risk management, and internal auditing.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and managing quality teams across multiple locations.
