Job summary

Raphael House of San Francisco is seeking a Corporate Philanthropy and Events Manager to lead corporate giving, sponsorships, and major fundraising events. The role reports to the Director of Development and drives donor engagement, sponsorship fulfillment, and volunteer programs.

The position requires strong project management, CRM experience, and the ability to work on-site, with some evenings and weekends for events.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of the annual Gala and other fundraising events.
  • Oversee volunteer engagement, recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, stewardship, and retention.

Job Title: Corporate Philanthropy and Events Manager

Reports to: Director of Development

Salary: $84,000-$92,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Raphael House is dedicated to ending homelessness. We tailor services for each family to provide them with the necessary support, education, and skills to assist them in obtaining housing, employment and self-sufficiency. Our Bridge Program offers aftercare services that include career development services, case management services, and children’s services to families outside of our residential shelter program. Case management services are focused on providing ongoing outreach and resource referrals to help clients maintain family stability. Career development services offer employment, education, and financial guidance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate Giving & Sponsorships
  • Manage and grow Raphael House's corporate giving and sponsorship program through the cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal of corporate donors and sponsors.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 corporate donors and prospects, with a focus on retention, increased giving, and long-term engagement.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate new corporate funding opportunities, sponsorship partners, and community relationships to expand Raphael House's corporate support pipeline.
  • Maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects and develop strategies to convert prospects into active supporters.
  • Prepare and submit corporate grant applications, sponsorship proposals, reports, and related stewardship materials.
  • Monitor trends in corporate philanthropy and employee engagement to identify and pursue new funding opportunities.
Events Management
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the annual Raphael House Black & White Gala, including sponsorship fulfillment, donor engagement, logistics, vendor management, volunteer coordination, and event-day operations.
  • Manage additional fundraising and cultivation events, including donor breakfasts, luncheons, salon gatherings, and other special events.
  • Work closely with staff, volunteers, board members, sponsors, and vendors to ensure successful event execution and achievement of fundraising goals.
  • Track event budgets, timelines, sponsorship revenue, attendance, and event outcomes.
  • Oversee Raphael House's volunteer engagement program, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, stewardship, and retention.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for volunteer groups, schools, corporate partners, community organizations, civic groups, service clubs, faith-based organizations, and other community stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase volunteer participation, strengthen community engagement, and cultivate volunteers and community partners as long-term supporters and advocates.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand Raphael House's visibility, volunteer base, and community partnerships through strategic outreach and engagement initiatives.
Grants Management & Development Operations
  • Participate in grants management meetings and support the tracking of corporate grant opportunities, reporting requirements, and stewardship activities.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure accurate donor records, proposal tracking, and reporting.
  • Understand the gift processing and donor acknowledgment process and assist in database maintenance, and data integrity efforts.
  • Utilize the donor database to track donor interactions, sponsorships, volunteer engagement, and fundraising activity.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, business, hospitality or event management, nonprofit management, public relations, or a related field preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, relevant experience in events, corporate partnerships, or fundraising will be considered.
  • 3 years of experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, event management, volunteer management, or nonprofit development.
  • Demonstrated success managing donor, sponsor, or corporate partner relationships.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with donor databases and fundraising CRM systems preferred.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of events and volunteer activities.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of Raphael House.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule. This position is M-F, with some evenings required for events, meetings, and/or onsite events for clients, and for other business needs
  • Able to work independently and seek supervision when appropriate.
  • Able to be flexible with working in a shared office space, as office spaces are limited, or as needed for onboarding of other staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong time management skills are essential.
  • This position is required to work on the computer for several hours per day. Able to navigate the Windows operating system and use Word, Excel, Google Suite Applications (Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, etc. Prior experience with Raiser’s Edge or other CRM software is a plus.
  • Corporate Philanthropy and Events Manager will work on-site at least two days each week, with core days on Tuesday and Thursday and one Wednesday per month. Additional on-site days may be needed for meetings, events, or other priorities.
  • Lifting up to 10 pounds may be required in performing essential functions.
