Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced business development professional to cultivate profitable account relationships across the United States. You will identify opportunities, present banking solutions, and expand the client base through a strategic referral network and targeted outreach.

The role emphasizes consultative discovery, strong negotiation, and collaboration with internal teams to grow and retain mid‑sized to large business portfolios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Seven to nine or more years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to travel (local and regional, some national).
• Prior experience in business card sales/payments.
• Strong sales and new business development skills, with demonstrated ability to prospect new logo opportunities, conduct curious and consultative discovery, and drive deals from strategy through close.
• Experience working with mid‑size to large businesses, including clients with $10MM+ in annual revenue.
• Strong credit analysis and financial assessment skills, with understanding of basic accounting principles related to financial transactions.
• Proven success developing and leveraging Centers of Influence (COIs) to generate new business opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage pipeline activity with strong follow‑up and execution discipline.
• Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools to manage leads, activities, and sales performance.

Responsibilities

• Develops profitable business account relationships and increased profitability from existing and new accounts.
• Identifies business opportunities based on knowledge of clients, markets, products and services.
• Makes sales presentations to existing and/or prospective clients informing them of benefits of using the organization’s products and services to meet their needs.
• Implements and maintains an effective referral network and call program to promote sales.
