Akerman LLP seeks a Corporate Associate with 3 to 8 years of experience in M&A and private equity transactions. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience representing control-oriented private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in a broad range of transactional matters, including platform acquisitions, add-on investments, dispositions, joint ventures, and minority investments. Candidates should be adept at managing multiple aspects of complex transactions, including structuring, due diligence, drafting and negotiating purchase and investment agreements, and coordinating deal execution. Must possess strong negotiating and drafting skills, excellent analytical and writing abilities, and a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving. Candidates must have at least three years of corporate experience at an Am Law 100 firm representing private equity sponsors. This position can be based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale, Miami, New York, or Orlando offices. Qualified applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Florida or New York Bar (depending on office location), or a willingness to sit for the next available examination.
Annual base salary: $250,000 - $400,000 (Akerman LLP is not a lock-step firm. The exact amount of salary for this position is dependent on a variety of factors). In addition to base salary, Akerman offers an annual discretionary bonus, paid time off, professional and client development allowance, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401k Profit Sharing Plan (employee-only contribution plan), and a pre-tax transit or parking benefit (depending on location).
